Tuesday: Most of my family would be catching a flight tomorrow home, and wed be commencing our journey home via car, after a lovely holiday, for the last few days, we carried on enjoy tapas, swimming, walks and go-karting. It had been a lovely week with everyone, and we went out for our last meal together at the golf clubhouse where we were staying, before playing cards and packing.
Monday: BBQ with family, and pool day Tuesday: With everyone else feeling a little worse for wear, me and my dad went for a drive through the mountainous coastline, taking pictures and sketches to work from when i get back off holiday. Was great fun. Nice to be painting outside in the warm for once compared to all the freezing cold that is wales. Apart from the weather it was interesting to see how the water meets the mountains here, and the ways the mountains are formed, they're a lot different here, and a lot lot bigger! Although i don't particularly like working from photos for landscape, i figured that i would need some references other than sketches and colour studies, for when i got back home and wanted to do larger pieces, as well as pictures i took some videos to help bring back memories of what it was like when i was there, noise, movement etc.. to help try and include these elements in my paintings. Quick two minute sketch, pulpi, conte crayon on paper.
Monday: With Holiday around the corner, i felt that i was in holiday mode and everything i was doing wasn't my best. I did a few more prints on some old plates but nothing seemed to be going my way.
