Monday: BBQ with family, and pool day
Tuesday: With everyone else feeling a little worse for wear, me and my dad went for a drive through the mountainous coastline, taking pictures and sketches to work from when i get back off holiday. Was great fun. Nice to be painting outside in the warm for once compared to all the freezing cold that is wales. Apart from the weather it was interesting to see how the water meets the mountains here, and the ways the mountains are formed, they're a lot different here, and a lot lot bigger! Although i don't particularly like working from photos for landscape, i figured that i would need some references other than sketches and colour studies, for when i got back home and wanted to do larger pieces, as well as pictures i took some videos to help bring back memories of what it was like when i was there, noise, movement etc.. to help try and include these elements in my paintings.

Quick two minute sketch, pulpi, conte crayon on paper.
Wednesday: A trip to the wild west, and the zoo! Where they film all old spaghetti westerns, been a few times and its always great fun, watching the shows and feeling like you're in a movie. The zoo is always an experience, not one that would be allowed in our country, and as much as its nice to see all the animals, it is very sad.
Friday:  Visit to the beach, as well as basking in the 30 degree sun,  i did a little painting, a very interesting experience, as compared to the other day when the paint was drying really quick, this time, the pant was actually melting!! I took a few sketches a water colour study and a small acrylic on canvas board using my hand bag as an easel! With the some of the Spanish staring, and coming over talking to me, saying that thy think there is a lack of art. It was nice to talk to them and speak Spanish, Something they all get shocked when i speak Spanish with a thick andalucian accent, It's always a surprise for them! This holiday started to feel strange, as i actually started to feel like i was on a holiday, as usually we go to the town we used to live in, and it just feels like coming home. So it was nice to do things different than normal.

Easter Sunday: After a lovely walk in a little town in the mountains, walking through narrow cobbled streets observing the immense panoramic views, taking sketches, eating tapas, it was time for a lovely BBQ Paella, an end to a great first week of Easter.
