Liquitex inks

These last few weeks have been very strange. The weather has gone from winter to spring. I’m struggling to work on the snow on Mountain Series when the weather is 24°C!
Using the app ‘Frame X’ I took photographs of my recent painting series to see what they would look like once framed and on the wall as you tend to see paintings differently once they are in an exhibittion. I feel the snow series still has something in them but I’m not sure quite yet what to do to move them forward for the exhibition so for now I may take a step sideways and do something else.

Sunday:
I decided to go for a a day out to ynyslas and get some inspiration. I’ve recently invested in some acrylic inks and love the vibrant pigment colours! Although my work is bordering abstract more than representational recently I find it hard to just paint abstract. Although what I see I’m painting isn’t abstract, I feel that to keep the authenticity to the work I need to continue to do representational paintings.

Although I am loving the size of these paintings, I feel I’m starting to lose the love for the paint, and I want to shake up my work.the one thing I don’t want to do is fall out of love with painting, so I’ve decided to turn these paintings around and leave them, perhaps I may come back to them in the summer months, but for now it is time totals a step backwards.back to the sea, in an aim to move forwards.
